It is finally blooming, along with a few of the other ones. The last pic is of one of the plants Tom gave me. I think it is rain but I am not sure as I have not seen any since last October. MESSAGE: Yesterday we had some stuff fall from the sky. MESSAGE: And I hope to move soon! Hahaha (even more evil laugh) Post# 2015-11:07 ||| foraloysius (Groningen, The Netherlands) The POTD picked the same picture two days in a row! At some point I will figure out a way of preventing that from happening. MESSAGE: We'll I knew this was going to happen sooner or later, because it happened once during the test phase before we "went live" with Applianceville. MESSAGE: Wow, those are pretty nice looking. SUBJECT: RE: Vintage Washer and Dryer on Ebay - such a bargain!! (Wow) Internal heater that heats to 150 degrees, pump screen, a prewash dispenser compartment, HAS A WINDOW, THE DRYER HAS A WINDOW, supposedly has a 5 degree angle. It's on 's appliance forum under front loading washers.
Have you read the Consumer Reports & Consumer Research Bulletin on these machines that Robert posted here? It's quite interesting.
It's a fine agitation machine, but the extraction performance is comparable to the Bendix "S." I would still rather have either of these machines versus a wringer washer, which explains their popularity in their day.
The Economat is the one with the suction water extraction - I have the service manual for that machine and should post the tips for use. The extraction is so poor, I can wring more water out by hand after the cycle has ended. I had it hooked up and running, but because of space limitations, it's mostly "ornament" now. They aren't the best washer by any means, but for their time in washer history, quite a marvel. MESSAGE: I adore the little round Bendix Standard - it is such a cutie. SUBJECT: RE: Off to Portland-Have a good weekend! Is the 52 Economat with Rubber Drum the one referred to as "Collapsable Drum" for water extraction? Is`nt that 47 Bendix just the cutest machine ever, how did you find this beauty? SUBJECT: RE: Finally! New Laundry Room Done (Collapsable Drum) I am looking forward to it very much and pictures will of course be posted on my return. MESSAGE: I am off to Portland for my first of two major conventions this summer, that of the Vacuum Cleaner Collector Club. SUBJECT: Off to Portland-Have a good weekend! MESSAGE: Shipping is a pain, but look at the slant-front set on Ebay! SUBJECT: Vintage Washer and Dryer on Ebay - such a bargain!! I have been meaning to call you and tomorrow I'm leaving town, so I will for sure next week or Sunday night! Scott MESSAGE: That sounds like a wonderful idea! And you'd have less driveway to shovel too! MESSAGE: A new 2 car garage built on the front of the existing garage would give a 25x25' space for a grand washroom! MESSAGE: Greg, face the music: the play room and the sewing room eventually have got to GO.
When all is said and done, I'll have spaces for ten washers and four dryers between the two rooms - I wonder if Skyler will give up space in his play room.just kidding! It's badly in need of paint and "sprucing up" and it will be a lot easier with fewer machines.
Since it's population is down and I have most everything I need to paint and install shelves, I'm going to do that right now before I fill it up with machines again. MESSAGE: I still have the other laundry room also - it's nearly empty now - only 3 machines left in there now. SUBJECT: RE: Finally! New Laundry Room Done MESSAGE: I have your address already - I sent you the Maytag tape. I had the impression that it was my provider's server. I sometime get the Not Available message over and over. MESSAGE: Peter, I have that problem now and then too. SUBJECT: RE: A Now for my Next Project (slow server) Post# 2001-12:27 ||| foraloysius (Groningen, The Netherlands) Some washers have a button for increasing water, my Miele has one too, but it's more for exceptional items or so. When the level gets lower the washer starts filling again to the same level again. After the first fill to a certain level, the laundry sucks up water. Actually I would buy three, a toploading H-axis too.Īs for wetting the load, all frontloaders I know don't have any difficulty with that. I prefer the frontloader (a Miele ofcourse) but I find the toploaders more fascinating. MESSAGE: Arrrooohhh, I'm sure I wouldn't make a choice, I would get both.
